Getting Flights to Africa in the right Season

Last year was altogether a good year for flights to South Africa as the country played FIFA Soccer World Cup Host 2010 however, in the latter half of the year, flights to Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and many other African destinations were among the Snow affected cancellations and delays in UK, Paris and most of the Europe.

For those of you, who could not make it last year 2011 is a great time to visit Africa. However, I would like to recommend going off the beaten path to select a good time and a good place for your visit to African Continent.

1. Visit Harare, the Capital of Zimbabwe

The city gives a direct access to Victoria Falls, the natural wonder plus a look inside the true African culture and age old traditions. Also, as it shares it borders with both Zambia and South Africa there is always an opportunity to take the train, road or flights to the neighborhood and make the most of your African Vacation.

2.Visit Accra, the Capital of Ghana

Why visiting Accra? Though quite like Zimbabwe, Accra gives you an insight in the true African life, culture, tradition and history but also, it has absorbed the darkest chapters of Slave trade. Elmina Castle, is one such evidence. Also, Accra beach is the cheapest beach you can get in Africa.

3. Visit Lagos, the capital of Nigeria

Have you missed the Abuja Carnival last year? The country crawling at the tourist maps in leaps and bounds offers vibrant festivals, amazing national parks and a culture that welcomes all. Visit Lagos before it gets too expensive to afford flights to Nigeria in Summer.

4. Visit Lusaka, the capital of Zambia

Known for its amazing national parks and abundant wild life Lusaka also offers one of its kind Golf experience and stunning new ways to visit Victoria Falls.

5. Visit Nairobi, the capital of Kenya

If you don’t know Kenya, you sure know the Kenyan Airline at least. A carrier that is called ‘pride of Africa’. The country also, reflects the warm and welcoming Africa, its traditions, wild life and stunning Mombasa beach, a heaven in the heart of Africa.

Hence, 2011 is the year of Africa.
