Eldoret has been growing rapidly and may like be bigger than Nakuru becoming Kenya’s fourth largest city. This region is the bread basket of kenya and predominately a farming region where maize, wheat farming and ranching take place on a large scale. Its location and proximity to Ugands, Sudan and other central African countries is an added advantage in addition the modern Eldoret International airport and medical facilities such as Moi University in the region and The Moi Teaching and Refferal Hospital are a testimony to this. Getting there & Away

The main bus and matatu stand is in the centre of town, by the market. Regular matatus / Peugeots serve Kisumu (matatus/Peugeots KSh250/300, 2½ hours), Nakuru (KSh200/400, 2¾ hours) and Nairobi (KSh400/700, six hours). Buses duplicate these routes.

Lakamba (Moi St) buses to Nairobi (KSh500) deaprt at 10.30am and 9pm, via Nakuru (KSh250). There are also services to Kampala at noon (KSh1000, six hours) and midnight (KSh1150).
